A lot of businesses look at their peers that have tens of thousands of followers, they can see the opportunities that come with that and they want that. However, they don’t understand how they’ve achieved that level of success and they think those larger numbers of likes and followers equates to their success.
The truth is, likes and followers are vanity metrics, but businesses with large numbers of likes and followers have more opportunities and can be more successful. And there-in lies the paradox.
